Hi Tom,

You can check the video on the post itself for the installation details. You can see that the AppSpeed has a virtual appliance that obviously runs inside ESX, but the plugin installs in the vCenter. The licensing is per ESX socket, it has nothing to do with the vCPUs of the AppSpeed virtual appliance.

Does AppSpeed work/install within Virtual Center??
If one has AppSpeed running in a VM with 1 CPU does it then cost $1500??
Or is the cost tied to the physical host's CPU count, what??
Thank you, Tom

Price is $1250 per CPU, yes AppSpeed will work with 3.0, 3.5. No major limitations.

Hi Craig

Thanks for your comment! I’m not quite sure about the compatibility with the ESX 3.0.x (for me I use 3.5 in prod), but for the licensing I believe it’s $1,500 per socket.

Regards

Great introduction to AppSpeed Hany, especially like the real world sharepoint example.

One thing I haven't been able to find out yet, is what does it cost and how is it being licensed, can you shed any light on it?

I think I may well take VMware up on their 60 day free trial to see what this looks like on out VI3 environment. Do you know if there are any limitations with some of the older versions of ESX like 3.0.1 or 3.0.2 ?
