How would you deploy into a configuration if you cannot publish the vESX host? I built a vESX host from scratch and it is required for me to install tools if I want to publish it.

it was a 3rd VM in my case. As far as i remember, you can't install Lab Manager on the same VM as vCenter Server, but don't quote me on that. Need to double check it.

One question: Is the Lab Manager installed on the same VM like the vCenter Server or is it a third VM on the physical host? When it is a third VM, is it a problem to install Lab Manager and vCenter on the same VM?

You don't have to install the VMware tools inside ESX, it was just an experimental thing from my side. It did work for me by the way. In general, all what u need to do is to create your template, and choose not to customize when deploying the image.

I follow ur instructions above to install the vmware-tools.
Unfortunately, I was not able to install vmware-tools on the ESX VM.
I would like to know how u did it and if it matters to deploy ESX VMs in the Lab Manager..

I located the GIF files in the Lab Manager images folder and customized them using Adobe Photoshop. I’ll reply to your email with the file paths in case you can’t find them.
